Bryan J. Bergjans

National Director, Military & VA Lending

Bryan Bergjans

Bryan’s leadership has greatly expanded Caliber’s support of service members and dramatically increased the volume of VA home loans originated at Caliber. Today, he’s in charge of programs that support active duty, reserve, and veteran communities. He has built a team better equipped to deliver home mortgages for the military and veteran population.

Bryan joined the Navy out of high school in 1995 and later earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and HR Management from American InterContinental University. Though he began his career in mortgage banking in 2002, he remains a member of the Navy Reserves and recently completed a deployment to Afghanistan. Today, he’s the Department Head for Commander Naval Forces Korea Detachment Delta in St. Louis, Missouri.

A retired Army Officer and a “veteran” of 27 years with the Department of Veteran Affairs, Jeff manages Caliber’s military and veteran support initiatives. He uses his intimate familiarity of the ways of the VA to help Caliber’s loans for the military navigate the swift VA waters. He also leads Operation 1M, Caliber’s initiative to educate 1 million people in the industry – real estate agents, builders, mortgage brokers and more – on the VA Loan benefit. His efforts continue to grow VA Loan volume at Caliber.

Jeff spent his entire stint at the VA working in home loan guaranty. Before joining Caliber, he held military and veteran lending positions at CMG Financial and American Pacific Mortgage.
